A new era has begun in our human animal relationship with horses.
No more exploitation of this magnificent cast of beings. It is time to stop showing, racing, hunting and of course eating as well as all the other ways we manipulate our fellow earthlings. Over eight million horses were killed in World War I in addition to human losses. Horses were among the dead who did not volunteer. Over seven million horses are slaughtered for human consumption each year.
Arjuna, the resident prince and Maitreya, the resident comedian were the first sanctuary ambassadors to be rescued in 2011. They hold space for humans and fellow animals alike.
