“World Peace Yoga teacher training inspired me to find (and be) the best version of myself regardless of what is going on around me. Moving to a new city just weeks after the training concluded, I couldn’t be more thankful for the inspiration, guidance and grounding I felt while at World Peace. More than anything, the training pushes you to think of yoga in the most holistic of ways, making it nearly impossible to walk away without your life being greatly altered–and for the better.” –Jacqueline Hull
About the Program
Participate in this program whether you are near or far! Join us in person at the studio or remotely via online live stream.
This program offers a path for your expanding spiritual growth while becoming a yoga teacher. It is a foundational 300-hour interdisciplinary yoga course encompassing many aspects of the yoga practice. Every individual in the training is accepted for where they are in their practice at the present moment. It’s not necessary to achieve every yoga posture in order to be an inspiring teacher. Through experiential learning of yoga you will begin to deepen your personal practice as your teaching abilities evolve with enthusiasm. Graduates from this program have the ability to design yoga sequences fit for healthy adults as well as an introduction to kids, prenatal, and senior citizen routines. The goal of this training is to encourage practitioners to unfold the mind-body-spirit connection that is vital to the practice of yoga and to pass on these experiences to others. We encourage students to achieve “living yoga.”
In addition, we have found that there are a myriad of reasons one may participate other than becoming a yoga teacher. A spiritual training such as this may acutely deepen or awaken one’s spiritual practice, enhance a chosen career path, or inspire to intuitively discover one’s passion and purpose in life; applying the practices of yoga in any endeavor one may choose. The community and bonding of the group may be described as uniquely delicious and infinitely joyful. Simply put, “it is a once in a life time experience”. Please inquire how this might be for you and talk to others who have gone before you.
The World Peace Yoga Teacher Training programs qualify you to teach in the U.S. and all over the world as a Certified Yoga Teacher or CYT.

“Signing up to become a yoga instructor at World Peace Yoga was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Upon entering the studio, I immediately knew that this was a place of healing. World Peace Yoga has its priorities right. It cares about people! It does not care about yoga clothes, or accessories–it cares about people of all shapes, sizes, colors, and orientation. Again, it cares about healing people by giving them the gift of a yogic lifestyle. I started off doing yoga there on their freedom month of yoga. Instead of charging exorbitant amounts, or conning people into joining, they give people a whole free month of yoga which inspires people that want it to build a practice. Current protocol says “get the client in, strong-arm them to join, and don’t care about them after. This studio says, come a month for free and see if it is for you. If not, then go find something else, and if so come and practice some yoga, meditation, pregnancy yoga, or just relaxation yoga. I adore this studio. After my free month, I decided, I too wanted to make a difference by teaching the world about yoga, meditation, breathing, and relaxation. The teachers care about your mind, body, and spirit by offering us monthly sessions with experienced and centered instructors. It has been and continues to be worthwhile, meaningful, and life changing.” –Erin Wise
What is World Peace Yoga?
World Peace Yoga is a holistic, courageous and practical approach to yoga that incorporates practices both on and off the mat, from philosophy and ethics, to physical postures, breathing techniques and meditation, to mindful eating. World Peace Yoga as a Hatha Yoga style is a practice where we focus on the ancient yogic tradition of ahimsa. Ahimsa is Sanskrit for “non harming” and implies practicing kindness to one’s self, to others, to all living beings, and to the earth. From practicing yoga asana (the postures, which is what many people see as “yoga”), meditation, satsang (gathering in spiritual community) and pranayama (breathing exercises), we have a healthier life with less stress, anxiety, and tension. We encourage the greater development of intuition to make healthier and wiser choices in life. World Peace Yoga is a practice that incorporates physical wellness with spiritual living. It is a style of yoga that touches more than just one aspect of life and motivates a positive transformation in individual and collective lives.
Yoga Asana Styles Defined
Yoga Basics
Learn the foundational yoga postures typically practiced in a yoga-asana sequence learning precise alignment. There are 5 different class structures you will learn for Basics. This is a wonderful practice for those new to yoga or for those that are established in their practice and want to refine their alignment. Learn the basics of asana (posture) alignment, breath, intention, and relaxation.
Vinyasa Yoga
A vinyasa practice links breath with movement and intention. In this training, you will learn the class structures you will learn for a Beginner Vinyasa sequence. In this practice you will flow through a balanced stream of postures including sun salutations, standing postures, backbends, forward bends, twists, inversions, relaxation and more. These are active practices that encourage focused intention, meditation, relaxation, and spiritual growth through asana.
Yin-Restorative Yoga
Based on the Chinese system of yoga, this style is used to enhance the flow of energy or chi through the body combining two approaches of teaching into one practice: one approach is yin – passive and restorative holds and the other approach is yang – active stretching and strengthening using fluid circular movements (as in a Vinyasa practice). Yin Yoga works to increase greater range of motion in the joints and stretches the connective tissue.

Most completing certification are at the beginning stages of both creating a steady personal practice, developing teaching skills, and inculcating the vast amount of new information and experiences that were presented in the Foundational program. It is with this in mind that we offer at no additional tuition an Internship Program to continue along your teaching journey. We view both the World Peace Yoga Internship and Advanced program as a natural continuation of the Foundational program to more deeply and fully integrate teaching yoga. As a whole, it is a 2-year + program starting with the Foundational Training to the Internship, followed by or in conjunction with the Advanced program if one so chooses. In addition, you get as much out of the training as you put into it. We encourage students, to show up and be present, not only for the program, but also to take classes and experience a variety of teachers while in training.
In addition to scheduled times the program meets, it is also required that a minimum of 20 hours of classes be taken at World Peace Yoga, 10 hours of a combination of observing, assisting/teaching components of classes at World Peace Yoga, 45 hours of practice teaching on your own, plus there are assigned books to read and coursework based on the readings and class lecture/discussion. Depending on which format of the training you take, some of the hours may be included into the program itself, rather than separate.
Some books are available for purchase at the studio, others may be purchased online or even at discount book stores.

Yes. While World Peace Yoga does not believe that affiliation with Yoga Alliance adds value to certification and training, we do understand that some may desire the registration. For those that have completed certification at World Peace Yoga that are interested in registration with Yoga Alliance, there is an additional tuition payment of $150. This payment assists with the costs involved with renewing our “RYS” or Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance. Graduates are then personally responsible for submitting their World Peace Yoga certificate to Yoga Alliance and paying their yearly dues to be registered.
